Why we made Learn Romanian.
We made it for travelers, for people with Romanian family or a Romanian partner, and for anyone who’d rather speak the language than swipe through vocabulary lists.
The method
Inspired by Michel Thomas
Michel Thomas was a language teacher who worked without textbooks or homework. In his lessons the teacher does the hard part, and the student starts putting real sentences together within minutes.
Learn Romanian brings that idea to your phone. Each lesson adds a few building blocks, shows you how they connect, and then has you construct Romanian yourself. Because you understand why a sentence works, it stays with you, and there’s no flashcard pile to slog through.
Add native audio for every phrase and instant pronunciation feedback, and it comes close to having a patient tutor on hand.

Why Romanian
A Romance language in Eastern Europe
Romanian tends to catch people off guard. It’s a Romance language, a cousin of Italian, Spanish, and French, spoken between the Carpathians and the Black Sea. If you’ve studied any of those, you’ll recognize words right away.
